If you enjoy playing the famous Nintendo game Super Mario Bros., then you’ll love SuperTux for sure! This is a very entertaining open source 2D-scrolling run-and-jump game where you take control of the penguin Tux and go through 26 levels where you will encounter 9 enemies in order to rescue the penguin’s girlfriend—just like in the Mario game.
SuperTux plays almost identically to Mario. It has everything from the 'growing bigger' power-up, to the poles at the end of each level. Let’s not forget that the old 'my girlfriend got kidnapped - I have to save her' storyline is used.
Overall, SuperTux will probably be considered great by some and far too derivative by others since it is a Super Mario clone in a penguin suit but hey, you wouldn’t know unless you try completing this challenging new game!
